Sabr is a prayer tracker built to help you stay consistent with your daily prayers. We designed it to keep your spiritual practice private, and this policy explains what that means in practice.
This Privacy Policy describes how Sabr (“the app,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you use it. By using Sabr, you agree to the practices described below.
01 Information We Collect
Sabr is designed to work without an account, and most of your data never leaves your device.
Stored on your device
- Prayer activity — which prayers you mark complete, streaks, and history. This is saved locally on your device.
- Your settings — reminder preferences, calculation method, and app options.
Location
If you grant permission, Sabr uses your device location to calculate accurate prayer times for where you are. Your location is used on-device to determine prayer times and is not stored on our servers or shared for advertising. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings and enter a city manually instead.
Notifications
If you enable reminders, Sabr schedules local notifications on your device for prayer times. These are generated on your device and do not require us to collect personal data.
02 Purchases
Sabr offers an optional one-time Pro upgrade. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and managed using RevenueCat, which helps us confirm and restore your purchase across devices.
We never see or store your full payment details — those are handled entirely by Apple. RevenueCat may process an anonymous purchase identifier to validate your subscription or unlock status. You can review their practices in the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
03 Analytics & Diagnostics
Sabr may collect anonymous, aggregated diagnostic information — such as crash reports and basic usage events — to help us find bugs and improve the app. This data is not used to identify you personally.
Keep this section only if Sabr actually uses an analytics or crash tool (e.g. Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Sentry). If it does, name the provider here and link their policy. If Sabr collects nothing, replace this section with: “Sabr does not use third-party analytics and does not track you.”
04 How We Use Information
- To calculate prayer times and deliver reminders.
- To save your progress, streaks, and preferences.
- To process and restore your Pro purchase.
- To diagnose problems and improve the app.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your prayer activity for advertising.
05 Sharing
We share information only with the service providers needed to run the app:
- Apple — for App Store purchases and delivery.
- RevenueCat — to validate and restore purchases.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the app.
06 Children’s Privacy
Sabr is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children in a way that requires consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will address it.
07 Your Choices
- Location: grant, deny, or revoke at any time in device settings.
- Notifications: turn reminders on or off in the app or device settings.
- Your data: deleting the app removes the prayer history and settings stored on your device.
08 Data Security & Retention
Because your prayer history and settings live on your device, their security depends largely on your device’s own protections. For the limited data handled by our providers, we rely on their industry-standard safeguards. No method of storage or transmission is ever completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
09 Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of Sabr after changes means you accept the updated policy.
